These Terms & Conditions apply to all bespoke (custom-made) orders placed with George Walker Jewellery
By placing a bespoke order, you agree to the following terms:
1. Deposit & Payment
1.1 A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to commence any bespoke commission, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
1.2 The deposit must be paid upfront before any design work or production begins.
1.3 The remaining balance is due upon completion of the piece and prior to dispatch or collection.
1.4 Any agreed payment plans must be confirmed in writing prior to commencement of work.
2. Non-Refundable Deposit
2.1 The deposit is strictly non-refundable under any circumstances, including but not limited to:

Change of mind

Cancellation by the client

Delays caused by client approval or communication

Design amendments requested after approval
3. Design Process & Approval
3.1 A design consultation will take place before production begins.
3.2 Sketches, CAD designs, or wax models may be provided for client approval.
3.3 Once a design is approved in writing or verbally, it is considered final.
3.4 Any amendments requested after approval may incur additional costs and extend lead times.
4. Bespoke Nature of Items
4.1 All bespoke pieces are made to order and are unique to the client.
4.2 As such, bespoke items are non-returnable and non-exchangeable once production has commenced.
4.3 Minor variations in gemstone colour, tone, or craftsmanship are inherent to the bespoke process and are not considered faults.
5. Lead Times
5.1 Estimated completion times will be provided at the point of order confirmation.
5.2 Lead times are approximate and may vary depending on design complexity, materials, and workshop scheduling.
5.3 George Walker Jewellery is not liable for delays outside of its reasonable control.
6. Materials & Gemstones
6.1 Natural gemstones may vary in colour, clarity, and character.
6.2 Where applicable, clients may be offered stone selection options.
6.3 Substitutions may occasionally be necessary due to availability; any significant changes will be discussed with the client prior to proceeding.
7. Client-Supplied Precious Metals
7.1 We accept client-supplied precious metals (including gold, platinum, or other approved materials) for use in bespoke pieces.
7.2 By supplying such materials, the client acknowledges that these metals will be fully used in production where required and are therefore non-recoverable.
7.3 George Walker Jewellery accepts no responsibility for the return of any unused, excess, or scrap material resulting from production.
7.4 Responsibility for insurance and valuation of client-supplied metals remains with the client until receipt is confirmed in writing.
8. Cancellations
8.1 Once a bespoke order has been confirmed and the deposit paid, the order cannot be cancelled without loss of deposit.
8.2 If work has already commenced, the client may also be liable for any additional costs incurred up to the point of cancellation.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1 All designs, sketches, CAD drawings, and creative concepts remain the intellectual property of George Walker Jewellery unless otherwise agreed in writing.
9.2 These materials may not be copied, reproduced, or shared with third parties without prior written consent.
10. Liability
10.1 George Walker Jewellery takes reasonable care in the creation of all pieces.
10.2 Liability is limited to the total value of the order.
10.3 We are not responsible for damage caused by misuse, neglect, or normal wear and tear after collection or delivery.
11. Force Majeure
11.1 We are not liable for delays or failure to perform obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
11.2 This includes, but is not limited to: supply chain disruption, illness, natural disasters, transport delays, or material shortages.
12. Governing Law
12.1 These Terms & Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
12.2 Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
